What is 925 Sterling Silver Jewellery?
925 sterling silver is a premium metal made from 92.5% pure silver, combined with a small percentage of alloy for added strength. This balance makes it one of the best materials for everyday jewellery - durable, timeless, and suitable for sensitive skin.
Interview with Our Head Jeweller; Camila

How did you get started in jewellery making?
My journey into jewellery started about 15 years ago.
I studied Product Design in Brazil and did an internship at a jewellery company, where I first got hands-on with design.
Three years later, I moved to Australia to continue my studies and two years after that, I began studying Jewellery and Object Design at Melbourne Polytechnic.
Since then, I’ve been working with jewellery ever since
Why is 925 sterling silver ideal for everyday jewellery?
Most people know that sterling silver jewellery is hypoallergenic and durable but what many don’t realise is how beautifully it enhances gold plating. Thanks to its naturally light tone and high quality, it keeps gold plating looking bright and radiant, without developing the deep orange hue often seen in cheaper materials over time.
Our sterling silver is also finished with rhodium plating, giving it a stunning white gold appearance, just like genuine white gold, which is also coated with rhodium. Best of all, it offers exceptional value: gold- and rhodium-plated sterling silver jewellery is one of the most affordable ways to enjoy high-quality, luxurious pieces. Even with silver prices being high at the moment, it remains far more accessible than gold or platinum.
How is sterling silver jewellery made?
Each piece starts with a design, which is then developed into a sample. From there, it goes through casting, refining, and polishing. The finishing process is especially important, it ensures the jewellery has a smooth surface, high shine, and long-lasting quality. What makes high-quality jewellery different?
The biggest factor is the material. Solid 925 sterling silver will always last longer than plated alternatives. You should also look for:
-
Secure clasps and closures
-
Smooth, well-finished edges
-
A solid feel (not overly lightweight or flimsy)
These details are key when investing in long-lasting jewellery.
Can You Wear Sterling Silver Jewellery Every Day?
Yes! Sterling silver jewellery is designed for everyday wear. In fact, wearing your pieces regularly can help reduce tarnish and keep them looking polished.
This makes it ideal for:
-
Layered necklaces
-
Stacking rings
-
Everyday earrings
Can Sterling Silver Get Wet?
Sterling silver can handle occasional water exposure, which is why it’s often considered water-friendly jewellery. However, to maintain its shine and longevity, it’s best to avoid:
What is Permanent Jewellery?
Permanent jewellery is custom-fitted and welded onto the wearer, meaning there’s no clasp. It’s designed to be worn continuously and has become popular for its convenience and sentimental value.
When made from 925 sterling silver, permanent jewellery is both durable and comfortable for daily wear.

Jewellery Care Tips: How to Make Your Jewellery Last
The way you store your jewellery is just as important as how you wear it
- Store your jewellery in a dry, closed place
- Keep each piece separate to avoid scratches and tangling
- Use a jewellery box or pouch to help prevent tarnish
- Avoid humid areas like the bathroom
These small habits help keep your pieces looking beautiful for longer
Also avoid sulphur-rich environments, saunas, and high heat, as these can affect the metal over time.
How can customers avoid damaging their jewellery?
Broken chains are probably the most common repair we see. Even though our jewellery is high quality, it’s still delicate!
So please be gentle with your pieces. Take them off before working out or doing anything intense - your jewellery will thank you!
